Garlic Press and Peeler Set From Alpha Grillers Review

GarlicPress&PeelerSetByAlphaGrillers.jpg

Garlic is probably one of the vegetables I use the most together with onion. My mom puts fresh garlic in almost anything she cooks and I got that from her. Now, the problem with garlic is the scent. Once the garlic is minced, chopped or mashed, the scent of the juice it produce tends to stick to my hand, it's really hard to rinse off. I can scrub and soap my hands lots of times but the scent just sticks.

My mom used to own a big stone mortar and pestle and we used to use that to grind our garlic. With too much pressure, the garlic flies away. LOL. I remember that mortar and pestle was a bit heavy since it's made of stone. Now, I'm glad that there are newer kitchen tools available to make cooking and preparations more easier.

GarlicPress&PeelerSetByAlphaGrillers.jpg

The Garlic Press and Peeler Set from Alpha Grillers has the following features:

1. Premium solid stainless steel garlic press
2. Mince unpeeled cloves with ease (peel stays in - minced garlic comes out!)
3. Ergonimically designed for easy squeezing
4. Works great for pressing ginger too
5. Premium silicone garlic peeler (insert clove -> roll tube back and forth -> tip out perfectly peeled clove)
6. Dishwasher safe
7. Beautifully presented in luxury gift box
8. BONUS EBOOK: "50 Delicious Recipes Using Crushed and Sliced Garlic"

GarlicPress&PeelerSetByAlphaGrillers.jpg

And here are the individual features of the Garlic Peeler and the Garlic Press:

Garlic Peeler:
- Simple to use: insert clove -> roll back and forth -> tip out perfectly peeled clove
- Extensively tested to identify the best texture and thickness of silicone for optimal peeling
- Highly durable and dishwasher safe

Garlic Press:
- Solid stainless steel garlic press will last year after year without any corrosion
- Ergonomically design so very little effort is required to squeeze
- Easily minces both peeled and unpeeled cloves and even works great with ginger!
- Easy to clean and totally dishwasher safe

GarlicPress&PeelerSetByAlphaGrillers.jpg
The Garlic Press has a label on the handle and for me, it looked really nice. I made a video on how I used the Garlic Press and Peeler Set From Alpha Grillers. You can watch it below. :)

The Garlic Press and Peeler Set are really nice products. The packaging looks really nice and I think would be perfect to give as a gift to those who loves to cook.

For the Garlic Peeler, I love how it removed the garlic skin easily. Just a few rolls and the skin comes off. I don't like garlic peelings on my minced and chopped garlic and often times, the need to remove the small garlic peelings and skin are the reason why I need to touch the minced/chopped garlic. With the Garlic Peeler, I skipped the need to remove those left-behind small peelings on my minced/chopped garlic.

The Garlic Press is a heaven sent. I can make perfectly minced garlic without the need to touch the minced garlic. I only need a little force to mince the peeled garlic and I did try to use the garlic press with the garlic's skin on but it's a bit more difficult to press. It is possible but more difficult. The basket is big enough to accommodate bigger garlic cloves so I had no problems with the bigger cloves.  The basket also flips over for easier cleaning and I didn't have to touch the minced garlic at all when I used the Garlic Press. So, no garlic-smelling hands for me! :)

For the quality of both the Garlic Press and Peeler, they do look like high quality products and as I've said, I would gladly give it as a gift to those who loves to cook. :)

You can purchase the Garlic Press and Peeler Set from Alpha Grillers on Amazon for $12.97 (currently on sale with this price) with free shipping if you have Prime.

All-Natural & Organic Sunscreen From Beauty By Earth Review + Giveaway 10/20 US

BeautyByEarthSunscreen.jpg
Sunscreen has almost been a daily part of our routine because I always wanted our skin protected from UV rays. One of the most important things I look for in a lotion, sunscreen or any beauty and body product is that it has to be non-greasy. I HATE products which are greasy. I get this queasy, uncomfortable feeling when a product has a greasy feel on my skin. Second, the product has to SMELL GOOD. At least for me. So if I'm going to use it daily, it has to smell good. Third, if it's all-natural, then I'm in it to win. I've hit the jackpot IF the price is right as well. :)

There are a lot of sunscreen brands available and I love it when I get to try a new one. Beauty By Earth offers a product which is an all-natural and organic sunscreen. Here is a short description of their product:

Natural Sunscreen - SPF 25. Organic, Mineral and All Natural, Chemical Free, Non-toxic and Moisturizing Sunscreen Safe for Children, Kids and Face. Best for All Skin Types, Including Sensitive, Fair, Oily and Combination. Physical Sunscreen Is Effective Immediately, Goes and Rubs on Easy. Non-Nano Zinc and Reef Safe Ingredients That Do Not Leave Your Skin Looking White. Contains Aloe Vera, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter and More. Made in the USA. MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

Indications
Use this SPF 25 sunscreen on your face, body and children. Completely safe formula will protect you from the sun and is made with earth friendly organic and all-natural ingredients. Our ingredients not only protect your skin, but also moisturize it at the same time. Can be used in the Caribbean or Coral Reefs - Reef Safe formula. Applying sunscreen prior to sun exposure helps to prevent premature aging, sun damage, sun spots and much more.

Ingredients
Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide, 8% Zinc Oxide, 4% Inactive Ingredients: Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Organic Safflower Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerin (vegetable derived), Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, Fractioned Coconut Oil, Cetyl Alcohol (organic and plant based), Organic Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Organic Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Extract, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance (plant based)

BeautyByEarthSunscreen.jpg
The Beauty By Earth Sunscreen arrived in a light brown, nice-looking box. It has a natural and organic look to it. The bottle inside looks as natural as the box and is sealed inside. I opened the seal and sniffed the scent of the sunscreen and it smells nice. I know the scent is familiar but I can't pinpoint it as of now.

Before using it, and you have to do this every time you let it stand for some time, shake the bottle a bit. I noticed that when I use it without shaking, there is some kind of separation on the liquids because there's a white part and a clear part. I've read that this might be a sign that a sunscreen is expired but the expiration date printed under the bottle is 06/19/15 and it doesn't smell bad so I'm thinking this might be due to the Beauty By Earth Sunscreen being all-natural and organic. So to continue, after shaking, the sunscreen is a bit thick. If you've used a body butter, it kind of looks the same but with a bit thicker consistency. In the above picture, I've accidentally applied too much and it went on white. LOL. But, the white color disappeared after spreading it a bit. It doesn't feel greasy at all and is actually very light when absorbed.

After using the Beauty By Earth's Sunscreen, I must say I like it. It's easy to use, natural and smells good.

You can purchase the Beauty By Earth Sunscreen on Amazon priced at $15.99 for a 4 oz. bottle with free shipping if you have Prime.

Teach Your Kids The Meaning Of Responsibility With Kupp' #momsmeet

Kupp'.jpg

As a mom, teaching my daughters the idea of responsibility little by little is something that's important. I mean, being responsible is not the only thing I want them to learn from me but it's one of the important things they'll have to learn. They're only 3 and 6 years old but I think the earlier they grasp the concept, the better.

I've been recently sent the Kupp' and when I received it, I immediately fell in love with the cute colors of each Kupp'. Although it has a rubber sleeve, one thing I noticed and was a bit worried about was that the Kupp' is made of glass. My daughters have the habit of knocking their cups over or dropping their cups so I was worried that they might break these easily.

Kupp'.jpg
Before we dive in to my initial worry and full review,  I'd like to share with you about how the Kupp' was created.

The Kupp' was created by Katesplace founder Kate Oliver as a tool to help her young boys learn accountability and responsibility. She gave each of her children their very own glass in a different color and put them in charge of their cup and all of the responsibilities that came with it, including setting the table, washing, and putting it away. She quickly discovered that she had a cleaner kitchen and her family consumed less plastic. As a result, the Kupp' was born - a six-ounce glass with a colorful silicone sleeve designed just for kids.

And if you're interested to know some facts about The Kupp', I know I was, then I'd like to share them with you too.

- The Kupp' is a six-ounce glass outfitted with a colorful silicone sleeve. It's designed for kids ages 3-10.
- The firm grip and silicon sleeve helps to protect the glass from damage while providing a safe, toxic-free vessel to drink from.
- The Kupp' comes in four vibrant colors that represent the environment: blue for water, green for earth, orange for the sun, and red for warmth.
- The Kupp' is the perfect serving size for children, and allows them to become more conscious of waste and consumption.
- The Kupp' is made in the USA using imported glass, and all materials are sourced from environmentally-friendly manufacturers that adhere to EU and US standards.
- All glass is recyclable, certified lead and cadmium free and is made from a pure soda-lime formula. It is also dishwasher safe!
- The grip-friendly silicone sleeve is BPA/BPS free and made with medical and food grade silicon to prevent damage. The sleeve does not have to be removed when washing, which makes cleaning your Kupp' very simple.
- The adorable Kupp' is designed to resemble a smile so kids are naturally attracted to it!
- The retail price of the Kupp' is $16.99 each.

Kupp'.jpg
When I received the different colored Kupps' I was drawn to the colorful and vibrant colors of the sleeves. The sleeves are made out of silicone and fits snuggly on the cup itself. I tried to remove the sleeves but had a hard time so I'm glad that it doesn't need to be removed when washing. The cup itself is made of glass which as I've said before, made me a bit worried since my daughters are a bit careless about their plastic cups. My daughters picked 2 colors each and I told them that what they picked would be their personal Kupp. I also told them that their Kupp would be their responsibility which means, they would have to get it, put it on the table and after they use it, put it on the sink. I didn't instruct them to wash it since they're too young and can't even reach the sink. :)

I'd like to share my own observations while my daughters were using the Kupp'.

- The sleeves are made of high quality silicone and it helps the Kupp from sliding. The silicone sleeve acted like a rubber stopper on our table so they are less likely to topple over.
- My daughters are used to the Take and Toss cups (plastic kids' cups with a cover and a hole for a straw) so using a cup with no cover is a first for them. My 6 year old daughter didn't have any problems with The Kupp' and was excited to use a cup with no cover. She said she was becoming a grown-up already (I told her good job :)). My 3 year old daughter on the other hand was not ready to use the Kupp' yet. She tried to use the Kupp one time but said she wanted the cup with a cover instead. I think with time, my 3 year old will be ready to use it too.
-The silicone sleeves are very tight. Don't bother removing them because they fit snuggly on the Kupp.
-While we're talking about the silicone sleeve, I do like that the Kupp is easy to wash even with the sleeves on. The silicone sleeve doesn't retain or have any smell even after A LOT of washes. It also hasn't loosen up yet which is great because I wouldn't like it if the glass cup slips and falls.
- The size of the Kupp is perfect for my daughters and the silicone handle fits just right on their hands.
-The glass doesn't break easily. One time, my 6 year old knocked her Kupp sideways (good thing there's no more juice inside!) and I was relieved that the glass didn't break. Maybe the silicone sleeve absorbed some of the shock but I was just glad that it doesn't break or chip easily.
- My 6 year old daughter now gets her own Kupp, set it on the table and then put it on the sink when she's done. She has formed a responsible habit of getting her own Kupp and I can't wait for her to help with the plates and spoons soon. My 3 year old on the other hand, usually copies her big sister but with the Kupp', she refuses to use it because of the cover issue.

The Kupp' is a wonderful product for my daughters and I think it's a great way to teach them about responsibility. As I've learned from my mom, you can't teach responsibility overnight. It takes time and, what better way to introduce my daughters about responsibility? Start from the little things like being accountable for daily things they do like getting a cup, a plate, their spoon and fork, playing with a toy and tidying them up after they use them.

If you'd like to connect with the Kupp, you can visit their social media sites: WEBSITE, TWITTER, PINTEREST and FACEBOOK.

Amazing Facts About Sharks Children's E-Book Review

AmazingFactsAboutSharks.jpg
ABOUT THE BOOK

Sharks are a marvel of nature. Able to swim continuously around the clock, these amazing creatures never stop. From the tiny sharks to the giant sharks, there are nearly 500 individual species swimming in our oceans. Some sharks are even able to live in freshwater rivers and streams.

 MY REVIEW:

My 6 year old daughter is fascinated with sharks. As for me, I became a bit scared of them ever since I watched all the Jaws movies. The sharks were portrayed as man-eating, scary creatures which attack people.

When I received the Amazing Facts About Sharks, I couldn't wait to show it to my daughters. I have 2 daughters and my 6 year old is more into sharks than my 3 year old.

The pictures were nice because they're actual photos of sharks under water. The words are a bit too advanced for a 6 year old to read but she easily understood them when I read the book to her. My 3 year old on the other hand focused on the photos.

This book is a great read because it teaches a lot about sharks. Well, after reading the book, I realized that sharks aren't that bad at all. Many species doesn't attack humans and if the few do, they only mistake us for seals blobbing on the water. My daughters, specially my 6 year old, learned a lot and she couldn't wait to share the facts she learned with her classmates.

Gravity Maze by ThinkFun Review

ABOUT THE GAME:

This gravity powered logic maze is sure to put your visual perception and reasoning skills to the test. The colorful, translucent towers can be arranged in a plethora of visually stimulating structures but, for each challenge, you’ll have to think carefully to build a path that will successfully carry your marble to its target. 60 challenges, ranging in difficulty, will give you plenty of creative building time while you maneuver the maze in your mind!

Ages:
8 to adult

Players:
Single player

When my 3 year old daughter saw the Gravity Maze from ThinkFun, she immediately thought the board game was for her. LOL. I told her that it's for older kids and adults but still, that didn't stop her from saying that it's hers.
We opened the box and before anything else, I read the instructions first.
Inside the box, you'll see the following:
  • 1 Game Grid
  • 10 Gravity Maze Towers
  • 3 Marbles
  • 60 Challenges from Beginner to Expert
  • Instructions
The instructions are very easy and just had to read through it once.
I did a video of what the goal of the game is and how it's played (more or less). :)
The game grid is made of hard plastic and is very sturdy. The maze towers are also made of colorful and translucent plastic and they're very durable. The marbles are made out of metal and the more we use them, the less shinier it gets. The game cards has a solution to the challenge at the back if ever I can't solve the challenge. :)

The Gravity Maze is a fun and challenging game. The first few card challenge are very easy to do but as I do the harder challenges, I spend more and more time thinking how I could solve the maze. My daughters, who are 3 and 6, have fun dropping the ball and they're always excited to see if the marble goes to the red maze tower. This is a great way to pass the time as well as exercise my brain.

MY REVIEW:

ChromoLEDlight.jpg
When I received the Chromo CI160 LED Video Lighting, I wasn't able to test it right away because batteries are not included and we don't have spare batteries at home. So when I was finally able to buy the batteries, I tested it out.

I tried to take several photos of my daughter's 3DS case from no flash to using the filters and you can see the difference about the brightness of the photos above.

NO FLASH - I tried the camera with no flash to see the difference.
CAMERA'S FLASH - I used the flash of our camera for this one.
W/ WHITE FILTER - I used the Chromo's LED light and white filter instead of our camera's flash. The photo was brighter and clearer and the Mario image was glare-free.
W/ PINK FILTER - I used the Chromo's LED light and pink filter instead of our camera's flash. It doesn't have that much difference with the white filter but it might have a difference on a different setting.
W/ YELLOW FILTER - I used the Chromo's LED light and yellow filter instead of our camera's flash. The photo became yellowish and is perfect if I wanted to have that old photo/sepia effect.

After using the Chromo CI160 LED Video Lighting, I noticed how different the quality and brightness of photos are with and without it. The brightness of the Chromo LED lighting is also dimmable so I can adjust the brightness I want in my photos. In the above photos where I used the Chromo, I was at the maximum or brightest setting. As I've said, I'm not an expert when it comes to camera accessories so I can't say if these photos look different for those who are experts on cameras but for me, the Chromo CI160 made a difference on my photos and I love it since it's easy to use.

Hands-On Fun With Surprise Ride Monthly Subscription Box Review + Giveaway 10/13 US

SurpriseRide.jpg
My daughters LOVE crafts and hands-on activities which are fun while I like them to do crafts and hands-on activities because they have fun AND learn by creative and imaginative play.

SurpriseRide.jpg
Surprise Ride is a monthly subscription service for children ages 6 to 11 started by two sisters, Donna and Rosy. Each box sends out fun and educational hands-on activities that foster creativity and imagination. Each monthly box has a specific theme from science to food to nature. We received the box with a "Green Thumb" theme.

My daughters couldn't wait to see what's inside the "Green Thumb" box. The box contained the following:

- Book: Ace Lacewing
- Plentils
- Solar Powered Lady Bug
- Plastic bowl
- Plastic Spoon
- Paper Cup
- Herb Seeds
- Grass Seeds
- Spray Can
- Glue
- Stocking
- Mosaic jewels
- Plain Wind Chime
- A pair of googly eyes
- Rubber Bands
- Soil Pellet

The "Green Thumb" Theme has 2 crafts included.

The first craft was the Plant Buddy craft. My daughters were so excited to do this. Since they're only 3 and 6, I had to supervise them with the instructions.

I let them gather all the materials needed (which were already included inside the box) and read them the directions one by one.

Here is a short video of how they made the Plant Buddy.

Then I dunked the head of their Plant Buddy for 3 minutes. After that, we placed it outside our porch.

SurpriseRide.jpg
Can you spot Mr. Plant Buddy?? :) My daughters couldn't wait for him to grow his "hair". :)

For craft number 2, my daughters decorated their own wind chime. Again, all the materials needed are already included inside the box. They were so excited to decorate their wind chime.
To make things easier for them, and for me, I already put the glue all over one side so that they'll just stick the mosaic pieces on the board. They love the colorful pieces and they had fun doing their "abstract" work of art. :) When they were done, we waited about 5 minutes then flipped the wind chime over so that they can decorate the other side.

I also put glue all over this side so that they'll just stick the mosaic pieces on the board.
They decorated it like the 1st side.
And when they were done, I waited for the second side to dry.
SurpriseRide.jpg
When it was dry, I hung it on our porch. My daughters were so proud of their design. :)

The Surprise Ride Subscription box is a great way to receive fun and educational hands-on activities for kids. My daughters loved the crafts included and they had fun doing them. I love that all the materials needed for the craft are already included in the subscription box so that would save me time from gathering the things needed for each craft. Each craft is also very educational (the plant buddy) and made my daughters' imaginations work (the wind chime).

Update: Here is a photo of my daughters' Mr. Plant Buddy. They water "him" (I refer to him as him because they called him Mr. Plant Buddy :)) everyday and cut his "hair" (the grass) once every few days. I think they're learning how to be more responsible for Mr. Plant Buddy and that's nice because they've added another "to-do" task in their everyday list.

You can visit the Surprise Ride Website to see more of their past boxes.

Now who wants to win a "Green Thumb" box? :) Surprise Ride has generously offered a giveaway for my readers for a chance to win the same box as I tried. :) Just head on to the rafflecopter below to enter. Good Luck!

Stroller Organizer from Pure Bliss Review

PureBlissStrollerOrganizer.jpg
When the weather gets cooler, I prefer to walk my 6 year old daughter to school, with my 3 year old in a stroller, since her school is just less than a mile away from our home. It's a great exercise and it saves me from getting stressed by limited parking spaces in her school and the problem of going out of the parking lot as well. Cars, or should I say people go crazy specially during dismissal time.

PureBlissStrollerOrganizer.jpg
My daughters would bring a cup of milk every morning when we walk and our stroller does have a cup holder BUT, the sippy cups doesn't fit there because it's designed for bigger cups. The result, every bump would send the sippy cups rattling, sloshing and spilling milk on the stroller's cup holder. Another problem is that when it gets cooler here, their warm milk doesn't stay warm for too long on the stroller's cup holder.

PureBlissStrollerOrganizer.jpg

The Pure Bliss Stroller Organizer is probably the best stroller accessory specially for our short home-to-school and school-to-home trips. It's specifically designed to handle the problem of spilling drinks. The cup holders are reinforced to keep drinks firmly in place, therefore helps in preventing sloshing and spilling of drinks. The cup holders are also double insulated to keep the drinks hot or cold longer.

The center compartment isn't that big compared to a previous stroller organizer I used but is perfect for short walks. I can out it some snacks inside, a coin purse, a small bottle of hand sanitizer and a small travel-pack of wet wipes. It has a magnetic closure and I can easily open and close it without problems.

The 2 outer side pockets are perfect for my keys. I love that they're securely in place so I don't have to worry about them accidentally dropping on the ground. The middle pocket is lined with microfiber and can be used for sunglasses but I found it a bit tight for my glasses. I did however put my cellphone there and it fits perfectly. :)

The Velcro straps are adjustable and can easily attach to strollers with handles between 13 and 21 inches wide. The Pure Bliss Stroller Organizer is made of thick, high quaility, eco-friendly machine washable fabric. It is designed to be air-dried though. It's BPA-free and Phthalate-free for added peace of mind.

I love the feature that it's collapsible. It's design allows it to collapse when the stroller is folded so I don't have to deal with the hassle of constantly removing and putting it on again.

I also received a free ebook called "55 Fun and Educational Activities To Do With Your Baby Or Toddler" sent via email. It is included with every purchase of the Pure Bliss Organizer. :)

The Pure Bliss Stroller Organizer is perfect for short walks because it's smaller, lighter and more compact. My favorite feature would have to be the double insulated cup holder because it keeps our drinks warm or cold longer and it minimizes sloshing and spilling of our drinks.

You can purchase the Pure Bliss Stroller Organizer on Amazon for $21.99 with free shipping if you have Prime. BUY IT HERE.

TheO SmartBall Review + Giveaway 10/13 US

TheOSmartBall.jpg
When we were little, we only played with puzzles, coloring books and board games. Our free time would be spent biking around the yard or playing jump rope. When I was about 8 years old, I remember having a Game Boy (the big, gray one) and we were so amazed with it. We had our first desktop computer when I was about 12 years old. Today, technology has been way more advanced and with new gadgets like tablets, smartphones and high-tech laptops. With so many apps and games available, my daughters have the tendency to be in front of the laptop or tablet all the time if I don't set breaks and an "outside" playtime for them. Don't get me wrong. I like kids apps and let my daughters play games (which are educational of course) because it encourages early learning in a fun way. I just think that anything too much isn't okay too so I balance it out with outdoor play.

In came in the TheO SmartBall. Here's a little something about it from the company.

TheO SmartBall - For kids pre-school to 5th grade – a parent’s dream!

Active kids learn more and retain more of what they learn. With TheO SmartBall, kids learn while they play.

TheO SmartBall is a soft foam ball that uses revolutionary technology and your smart device to entertain and educate your kids. Our Apps offer a variety of games that get kids engaged mentally and have fun physically.

Download one of our entertaining and educational apps to your smart device, insert your device into TheO SmartBall (a tutorial on our website shows how), and then toss, roll, or shake the ball to make learning fun.

When I received the TheO SmartBall, my daughter saw it right away and wanted to play with it. The TheO SmartBall has a nice orange color and has a firm and foamy material. Watch the video below to see how it's used.

There are 8 available free apps from Physical Apps which can be downloaded from iTunes or Google Play.

I didn't get the chance to take a picture of the TheO SmartBall in action but my daughters loved the Flying Circus. I love how the TheO SmartBall combined active play with learning. My daughters can play indoors when it's too hot outside and still get to move around. The TheO Smart Ball is also soft and protects the smartphone inside from becoming damaged. I also like the free drawstring bag included because I can just put the TheO SmartBall in and easily carry it or store it. This would be a nice gift for young kids because my daughters loved it.
