MY REVIEW:

The Old Fashioned Novel is a great read for all singles as well as married people because it has a nice, clean, romantic story which for me is really nice. This novel was set in modern times but depicts an old fashioned way of dating. The characters are really likeable and I like how innocent this novel is and yet, it teaches lots of things which includes forgiveness both for others and for ones self, redemption and true love.

Clay Walsh has done something in the past that made him change his whole views about dating and relationships. When Amber Hewson arrived in their town and rented the room above his shop, he was attracted to her instantly but Amber's views are a bit different. She also has been hurt in the past but that didn't stop her from expressing her feelings more vocally as compared to Clay. I love how they resolved their differences in such a mature way and even though this is a clean and innocent love story, it still brought butterflies to my stomach.

The Old Fashioned Devotional is a great read and although I'm already married, I had fun reading it with hubby. It is a 40-day reflection/journal which is a nice read specially to people who are single. The journal is a bit old fashioned, and many would not agree with it but I think it's a nice read to widen one's knowledge and views on certain things. At the end of each daily journal, there is a reflection part where I can answer questions about dating and relationships and truly reflect on what I feel inside. I also like the short prayer at the end of each daily journal.

MY REVIEW:

When I read the title of the movie, Old Fashioned, I expected the story to be well, old fashioned. While watching the movie, I was a bit surprised about how fate really exist. The movie is about Clay Walsh, who was in the past, a frat boy and later on ran an antique shop. He became known and popular about his views and beliefs about love and his faith in God and after he met Amber, he tries to deny his feelings but still, he was attracted to how different her views are. I like how their love story blossomed all throughout the story and I like how innocent and clean the movie is. It shows love and how flattering a clean courtship is.

I love how this movie inspired me. I grew up in a slightly, not overly conservative family so I like how this movie is family friendly. I like how romantic this movie is and it gave me a feeling of true love and happiness. I believe in fate and this movie definitely strengthened my belief in destiny and of course a relationship where God is the center.

In this follow up to Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Treasure, Mickey Matson is at it again; this time pitted against the evil Admiral Ironsides and his gang of pirates who are intent on destroying civilization.  They're new invention, the Tesla Coil, is a weapon of mass destruction that will send an electromagnetic pulse throughout the world, destroying every electronic device in existence.  With the help of a secret organization, Mickey and his best friend Sully embark on a mission to stop the pirates from taking over a submarine and stealing the last part needed to complete their devastating weapon.  If Admiral Ironsides succeeds in his plan, civilization will be sent back to the Stone Age.  It's a race against time, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.  

MY REVIEW:

The Pirate's Code: The Adventures of Mickey Matson is a family-friendly movie full of adventure and comedy. My daughters laughed to the jokes and funny parts in the movie and were amazed at the shoes which make them fly. They were asking me if that was real and if they can have a pair.

I like the friendship and teamwork which was clearly shown in the movie. The movie has lots of adventure and action which is appropriate for smaller children as well. There were no foul languages in the movie and I like how this showed Mickey's courage and bravery.

This is the first movie my daughters watched in this genre but they liked it and they understood the movie well. The quality of the picture isn't that nice but the story and the characters were very likeable.

MY REVIEW:

I honestly haven't watched the Season 1 of When Calls The Heart yet so when I started to watch an advanced premiere of the When Calls The Heart Season 2, I was quite drawn to the series. Even though I didn't watch the 1st season, there were some preview of what happened in the 1st season so I kind of put the pieces of the story together.

The When Calls The Heart Season 2 catches off where it left of in the 1st season which ended when dozens of miners were killed in an explosion. I liked how light and innocent the When Calls The Heart Season 2 show is and it is family friendly. It's a mixture of comedy, drama and romance.

The When Calls The Heart Season 2 also brought new surprises and characters and after watching the 1st two episodes of Season 2, I was left hanging and excited for the next episodes. Of course while waiting, I will watch the Season 1 first so that I can further see how the characters of the show met and how their feelings developed for each other. :)

MY REVIEW: 

My mom taught us the value of honesty and to never steal anything. After watching the Grace of God, I was touched and inspired at how Bill found his faith again. The commandment "Thou Shall Not Steal" reminded me of how my mom successfully instilled that to us (me and my siblings). I was actually surprised at the end to learn who stole the church money. I had my hunches in the beginning but I wouldn't have guessed who really took the money.

I was inspired by the movie because most are quick to judge by appearance and the life situation of  people. Honestly, I am a bit guilty about this because there are rare times when I judge people without even knowing them or their situation (I keep it to myself by the way). I try hard to prevent my thoughts but at those rare times, I have these pre-judgement thoughts which I'm quick to "shoo" away. Like in the movie, I had my eye on who took the money but at the end I was wrong.

After watching the movie, I was enlightened that people sometimes do things not because they want to, but they need to. It doesn't mean that what they did wrong is right but that doesn't mean the person is considered bad/evil. Not one person deserves to be judged.

I also haven't lost my faith ever like the main character Bill did, so I was happy at the end on how he restored his faith in God.

This is a nice, inspirational movie which is a great watch for the whole family.

This 4 DVD starter lessons kit includes DVDs in Swing Dancing, Salsa Dancing, Bachata Dance, and Merengue. It's awesome, and it's from the START. You're going to love it!

MY REVIEW:

I have 2 left feet but that doesn't keep me from wanting to dance. This DVD teaches the basics of 4 classic ballroom dances: Salsa, Swing, Merengue and Bachata. I only have a background on Swing because my grandfather loves this dance but the other ballroom dances were quite new to me.

The Dance Lessons Starter Kit makes learning these dances easier because they breakdown the basic steps into shorter, much simpler ones. If I can't do the steps properly the first time, I can just repeat the steps by pressing the rewind button on my DVD remote control.

This also features a close-up portion on the basic footwork so that I can clearly see what's happening and how to do the footwork properly. What's nice is that I can learn these dances in my own pace and at the comfort of my own home. I don't feel pressured into watching the DVD, specially if I'm busy.

After trying out the Dance Lessons Starter Kit by DanceCrazy, I've learned some of the basic steps of Salsa, Swing, Merengue and Bachata. I didn't become a professional dancer though, but I'm glad I can do the steps properly.

4 Winter Wonderful Kids DVD From NCircle Entertainment Review + Giveaway 3/9 US

It's still Winter but here in SoCal, it feels like Spring already. The weather has become a bit warmer with the warmest temperature ranging from the high 70s to the low 80s everyday. Even though the temperature has become a bit warmer, my daughters still prefer to stay at home to play indoors or watch TV.

Since my 3 year old daughter doesn't go to school yet, I let her watch educational shows at home and the DVDs sent to me were her favorite characters.

The Octonauts is one of the shows I love because it teaches my daughters about marine life. The characters are cute and I like the creature report at the end of the show because it summarizes an episode to a chant-like or rhyme-like song. This has been my 6 year old daughters' favorite show when she was younger and I love how my 3 year old daughter likes this show too.

Wiggly Pig: Playtime!

Wibbly Pig is an animated preschool comedy series that takes the daily routine of a young child and finds humor and fun in every part of it.  From day to day activities like getting into bed, wrapping a present or climbing a tree, to fantasty play like meeting a giant or going to the moon, Wibbly turns the simplest tasks into a comedy routine! Wibbly loves to share adventures with his very best friend - you!

Bonus sing-along songs

This is actually the first time I've heard about Wibbly Pig and it's a hit for my 3 year old daughter. This is more for younger kids but my 6 year old daughter likes it too. The simple humor made my 3 year old daughter laugh a lot and I like how it's educational as well.

Ready, Steady, TV Series Episode - "Spring Has Come"

I like the Wiggles because they're so energetic and the songs they sing are very catchy. This DVD made my daughters dance and sing around and I like how age-appropriate this show is for young kids.

My daughters loved these DVDs and I love how they were entertained and at the same time they learned something from these titles.

MY REVIEW:

I loved the previous Beginner's Salsa DVD by SalsaCrazy and I've progressed from having no idea how to dance Salsa to one who can dance Salsa properly. Take note, properly not professionally.

The Salsa Dance Workout is a nice, low impact cardio exercise routine meant for beginners. Since I already do a much advance workout, this DVD is enough to make my heart race but not enough to race my BPM to compare to the usual workout DVDs I do at home. Another thing I noticed is that this DVD has lots of spins and turns during the latter part of the workout routine and some of it made me dizzy. I do get dizzy easily so if you're sensitive to turns, twirls and spins, then I suggest you only do the first parts of the DVD or be careful with the latter part where the spins and turns are more common.

The thing I loved about this DVD is how fun it is to do the workout routine. It feels like I'm just dancing instead of exercising. I hate boring routines so this one really stood out. I would add this in addition to my other workout videos instead of doing just this because as I've said, I'm more used to harder and more advanced workout routines.

MY REVIEW:

I've been enjoying the DVDs from SalsaCrazy and DanceCrazy and I love how they make different ballroom dances easier to follow. Recently, I've received the Beginning and Intermediate Latin Dancing. When I played it, I noticed how sexy this dance is. The steps were broken down into a series of simpler steps but I had a hard time with all the hip swaying. I wasn't born a dancer, practically born with two left feet, so that is a huge factor on why I had a hard time with the hip movements.

What I like about this DVD is that I can learn the dance at my own pace and in the comfort of my own home. I like how I can learn this dance during my free time with no worries of of going to classes or dance studios. There is a male and a female instructor so this DVD works well for both me and hubby. This is such a nice DVD and I can't wait to master the basic steps to move on to the turns and more complicated steps of Merengue, which is included in the second part of this DVD.

MY REVIEW:

This 3-DVD set made me dance Salsa the right way. When I was in college, I enrolled in a P.E. class for a semester but didn't get to enroll in further lessons after that. We had a group project and we were to dance the Swing Dance. Another group danced the Salsa Dance and they made it look SO EASY! So, when I played the DVD sent by Salsa Crazy, I was confident about myself learning the dance right away.

WRONG!

The footwork is simple BUT the swaying of the hips made it much more complicated. Yes, I love to dance but I have two left feet and I'm not good in following and copying dances. So, the SalsaCrazy's 3-DVD Dance Mastery System helped me a lot.

WHY?

Because the DVD showed the steps in a simpler way and they had close-up videos of how the footwork is done in different angles. I was able to pace myself to learn the basic salsa step and I was able to stop and rewind the DVD so that I can do the steps again and again.

Would I be able to dance Salsa professionally with this DVD?

NO. But, I am now confident that I can dance Salsa properly. I like how this DVD taught me the basic Salsa step and how I was able to practice the steps again and again at the comfort of my own home. :)

The Beginners Waltz Volume 2 is a nice DVD to watch and learn after I finished learning the Volume 1 DVD. It taught me a more matured and developed way to dance Waltz. As with the other instructional DVDs from Dance Crazy, the Beginners Waltz Volume 2 shows different camera angles so that I can follow the footwork properly. I love how I can learn the steps on my own pace and I like how Dance Crazy made the steps seem more simple so that I can follow them easily. This is such a nice dance to learn because it's graceful and pretty to watch and do.

I've never heard about Bachata before so I was quite excited to see what the dance is about. After watching and following SalsaCrazy's Bachata 3-DVD Mastery System, I fell in love with the dance. It's so sensual and sexy that I wanted to master it.
